Do You Need an iPad for That?

[smartads]

The iPad is meant to be the “perfect” device for e-books, movies, email, and photos. As true as that subjective statement may prove, there’s no reason for people who already have a laptop or, better yet, an iPod Touch, to even consider getting the iPad.

The iPad is simply a glorified iPod Touch, one with a large screen that can run several applications at once, faster, and overall “better.”

The bottom line is this: The recession is still affecting countless people, yet, somehow, Apple targets as iPad customers the same group who already has a Macbook, a general laptop, and/or an “iTouch” or iPhone. The iPad does almost everything these things do; iPad just does it differently.

I suppose it’s possible that Apple loyalists are looking for the missing link between their iPod Touch and Macbook. But sadly, the iPad is not that missing link. Here’s why …

The applications (apps) that can and will run on the iPad are the apps that Apple approves. In other words, Apple yearns for people to spend good money on something that not only does very little, Apple will prohibit most app developers from getting in the game to make the iPad better.

You see, Apple controls all the software in the device. How? Well, unlike an iPod that reads just about any music files, picture files, some application files, and now video files, the iPad doesn’t read such generic information. Instead, the iPad only reads iStore music, photos, applications, and videos.

In other words, Apple controls the only “trading route” of information—the App Store itself.

Apple may not write all the material for the iPad, but it’ll control the material by censoring what’s allowed and available in its space. So, all in all, the iPad is a glorified iTouch with a heavy aura of restriction. This may prove to be one bitter misstep in the normally lush garden of Steve Jobs.

  3. I have got one recommendation for your web page. It seems like right now there are a number of cascading stylesheet problems when opening a number of web pages within google chrome and opera. It is operating alright in internet explorer. Possibly you can double check that.
